DIY: Dinner with the Girls by Jennifer Margolin's Red Sole DIARY
My busy schedule has left me without time to hang out with my girls! I enjoy cooking and hosting parties and Jennifer Margolin's blog post, DIY: Dinner with the Girls, was not only inspiring but it has me planning my own dinner party, date TBD! Although the date is TBD I do know what I will be wearing. I cant wait to wear the Karri Ann reversible wrap dress with peep toe heels and gold chunky accessories! Read about the colorful and chic dinner party that Jennifer crafted using S/S 2011 runway as inspiration:
There is nothing better than catching up with your girls, especially during a busy week. Last week I hosted my girlfriends, The Biscuits, over for dinner and major girl talk! With everyone’s busy schedules we don’t get to see each other as often as we would like so when we do we make up for lost time. There is nothing I love more than having people at my house and coming up with a theme for dinner. I was inspired by the bright colors and bold stripes we’ve seen on the S/S 2011 runways from Prada and Marc by Marc Jacobs. Nothing feels more like summer than stripes and color. I started with my blue tablecloth and then added green and white striped fabric I found at the discount fabric store. I wanted to add some yellow as an accent color so I used lemons in the center vase and paired bright tulips with white peonies (my favorite) for the side arrangements. Dinner at my house is not complete without a goodie bag. So to keep with the fun, summery theme I had yellow gummi bears and a giant jawbreaker wrapped in a cellophane bag at each place setting. Who doesn’t love candy?!! I kept the menu light and summery as well. We started with chilled pea soup with creme fraise. The main course was lemon & thyme marinated chicken served with a corn and watermelon salad. It was a fun evening with great friends and yummy food. A night with your girls is a must! |
